You'll receive 10 points for each letter in the scrimble you solve. So a 3-letter scrimble is worth 30 points, and a 9-letter scrimble is worth 90 points. For players who have unlocked all words for a greater challenge, a single scrimble can earn all the way up to 150 points if they reach and solve a 15-letter scrimble!
When you start a new game, you are given 60 seconds to solve a scrimble. You add one second to your Solve Time with each success and you lose one second when time runs out before you can solve the scrimble. Your Solve Time carries forward through all rounds, so increasing it can be an advantage, while losing Solve Time can make things tougher in later rounds.
No, you don't lose points or Solve Time for entering incorrect words, so take a chance! You never lose points you've already earned in a Scrimbles game, and you only lose Solve Time when you run out of time to solve, skip a scrimble, or pause and then reopen the Scrimbles app.
Skip/Lose 10 sec can be used once per round to skip a word without losing points. You will be presented with a new scrimble of the same length and with the same number of given letters. The downside? Each time you skip a word, 10 seconds are deducted from your Solve Time moving forward, so use it wisely!
Using the Skip/End round button ends the round and deducts one second from your Solve Time moving forward. But it leaves you with no further opportunity to score in that round! Only use it if you are certain you won't be able to solve the currently presented scrimble in time and you don't want to wait for the timer to reach zero to continue in the game.
YEach time you pause and reopen the Scrimbles app during a game (for example, to open another app), 10 seconds are deducted from your Solve Time going forward. There is no deduction if your Solve Time is less than 24 seconds when you pause the app.
No, points are never deducted from your score once you've earned them in Scrimbles! If time runs out before you can solve a scrimble, you just lose one second off your Solve Time.
For those playing the freemium game, four rungs are available on the achievemet ladder and the highest possible score is 1,460. Those who have unlocked all words and levels can climb all eleven rungs on the achievement ladder and the highest possible score is 4,460.
By playing Scrimbles regularly, you will find that your mastery of the word recognition, active vocabulary, and pattern matching skills the game requires will improve over time.
Freemium players can find purchase and unlock full features from the initial Home view (splash screen), from the Tutorial, from Settings, and when viewing the Achievement Ladder after completing a game. Tap the Unlock button and choose the Pro15 option.
Currently, you can only unlock all words and levels before starting a game, or after a game has been completed.
